The Open Arms is absolutely outstanding!
The new owners are truly top-notch and have taken The Open Arms to another level. Their passion, care, and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of the experience. It’s clear they’ve created something really special here. An absolute credit to them and the whole team. Could not recommend it highly enough—once you visit, you’ll be counting down the days until you’re back!
Everything you could wish for for an autumn break
Great communication before arrival, and the hotel is set in a lovely, quiet village. We received a warm welcome on check-in, and the room was beautiful with lovely bedding. The staff were extremely helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. The welcoming fire in the sitting area was a lovely touch, and the breakfast was superb. There was nothing not to like.
Looking forward to a return visit
Just spent 2 nights here and couldn’t fault it. Our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was superb with large choice of freshly cooked hot dishes as well as fresh pastries and cereals. Yes the staff are young but very friendly and try hard to go the extra mile. I would not hesitate to return
Great for families
We had a great stay at the Open Arms Hotel in Dirleton – the staff were incredibly welcoming and especially lovely with the kids, which made a big difference. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was a real highlight with plenty of options to choose from, so everyone found something they liked. It felt warm, relaxed, and genuinely friendly, and we’d happily come back.
Lovely stay/ highly recommend
I had a lovely stay at the Open Arms Hotel in Dirleton — it’s spotlessly clean, in a perfect location, and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, which really makes the place feel special, and the whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable. I’d happily stay again.
Comfortable, relaxing stay with the nicest staff
I’m already looking forward to my next visit to this charming small hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the lovely sitting area in front of an open fire was a real highlight. The breakfast room was spacious, with another cosy open fire that added to the welcoming feel. Breakfast was delicious – poached eggs, sausages, toast, and freshly made granola with raspberries, which was excellent.
Gem of a place
Gem of a place staff can’t do enough for you had a great one night stay food was excellent loved the breakfast and also having a drink beside the log fire room was huge with a great view of the castle good parking and dog friendly and peaceful!
Amazing! Everyone should visit
Staff are brilliant and very attentive. I’ve only recently found this hidden gem recently and I’ll definitely be back. Under new ownership has landed this buisness into the 21st century 🙌 and they are even dog friendly. So I can tell the husband I’m walking the dog and disappear for a pint.
The hotel is beautifully furnished
with exceptional and welcoming staff. They are very dog friendly, letting our dog stay in the room whilst we ate breakfast, seeing her as a guest. After being out all day I asked if the bar had chocolate, they didn’t but did bring some after dinner chocolate mints to the lounge, above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and every member of staff was welcoming and helpful.
