Welcome to Open Arms Hotel
The hotel is directly opposite 13th century Dirleton Castle with an open outlook to the village green.
The Open Arms Hotel – established in 1947 – was started with the premise of friendly service, good food and drink and comfort. Today, over 70 years later, the still privately family owned hotel, adheres to those values.
Our chefs take pride in their dishes and the busy restaurant, where locals and guests can relax and enjoy beautifully prepared good food, is a testament to their skill. Locally grown and made food and drink are served, where possible.
The lounges with their comfortable chairs and sofas and open fires give guests the opportunity to enjoy tea or coffee or a pre or after meal drink. There is a small library from which guests may borrow books and settle in for a quiet read without disturbance.
The 12 bedrooms are all individually decorated, but each offers comfort and warmth with the modern convenience of complimentary wi-fi. Most bedrooms look out to the 13th century castle of Dirleton across the green from the hotel, whilst four rooms look over the tranquility of our garden. Well-behaved dogs are most welcome with a cover of their own and a wee treat to welcome them. They may use all the lounges, but are not allowed in the restaurant. (Except guide dogs).
The Marquee room (up to 50), the Library (20) and the Heather room (10-12) can be booked for a special occasion, family get-together or meeting.
The area around the hotel abounds with golf courses and we are happy to reserve golf for you. The walks along the beaches at Gullane, Yellowcraigs and North Berwick should not be missed. The villages have many interesting shops whilst Edinburgh is a mere 30 minutes by train or car.
We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming and looking after you whether it be for a meal, a short or long stay or an event. Relax, enjoy and leave refreshed to face the ups and downs of everyday life.
