Welcome to Open Arms Hotel

The hotel is directly opposite 13th century Dirleton Castle with an open outlook to the village green.

After a long day on the golf course or a walk on the sea shore you can return to the relaxing atmosphere of our comfortable lounges with, in Winter, real log fires. In Summer you may choose to sit in the courtyard and listen to the birds. Whatever your choice, you may thoroughly enjoy an afternoon tea or drink whilst sitting back with a newspaper or book and allowing the strains of everyday life to ooze away.

There are many places of interest in the area from some fascinating little shops to the Seabird Centre, the Museum of Flight, Dirleton Castle (of course!), Tantallon Castle and Edinburgh, which is only a thirty minute journey by a good train service or by car. The many golf courses offer play for most standards and there are delightful walks along the sea shores in Gullane, Yellowcraigs and North Berwick.

Most of our twelve bedrooms are front-facing overlooking the Castle. We do, however, have four garden rooms, which are popular with those less fond of stairs and four-legged visitors, who are always welcome when well-behaved. All rooms have free wi-fi access. Our chefs take great pleasure in offering delicious dishes prepared with the best of local ingredients where possible and the busy restaurants are a testament of their skill. After dinner take time to relax with a liqueur or coffee in one of the many comfortable chairs or sofas in the lounges and think of nothing but a cosy bed and an excellent breakfast.

We shall do our utmost to provide you with a relaxing visit so that, on departure, you leave much refreshed. We hope we may have the pleasure of welcoming you to our family owned hotel.

JULY 15 & 16 and 22 – 24 incl.

£75.00 p.p. dinner, bed and breakfast

The rate is per person, per night for dinner, bed and breakfast  with a glass of Open Arms Fizz

The above rate is based on two people sharing a twin or double room. Dinner is from Deveau’s menu. If dinner in the Library is chosen then there is a supplement of £10.00 per person, per night. Supplement for single occupancy from £25.00 Please view our sample menus.

During the month of July we are planning some changes for Deveau’s and The Library!

Firstly we are merging our Library and Deveau’s menu to offer the best of both in one and we will be offering this a la Carte menu in both areas.

We will still be running our lunch and Early Bird offers.

As soon as we have finalised our new menu we will be up-dating the ones shown under our dining section.

Secondly we are going to open up and install French doors directly from Deveau’s into the Library, this will mean that when we are using both areas together there will be a lot more natural light in the Library.  However we will be able to close the doors and  use this as a private dining area when requested.

ARE MOST WELCOME.  A charge of £10.00 is levied for a stay whether it be for one night or seven.

It is very important that you advise us PRIOR to arrival that you are bringing a dog as we try to allocate an appropriate room.  Dogs are allowed in all of our lounges, but NOT in any of the restaurants or the Marquee Room if a function is taking place.  Obviously, Guide Dogs are exempt for these rules.   Owners are expected to ensure that dogs are on their best behaviour at all times whilst in the public areas and do not disturb other guests.

A drinking bowl and small bag of treats await the arrival of your four-legged friend.

Click on the Party Menu button at the top of the page to view the menu, which changes each quarter and offers delicious seasonal dishes.   Great choice for an event.
